In addition, we are in need of baby shampoo and towels for the dog wash. And monetary donations to help with spay/neuters of some of the dogs that we will be transporting up north. You can bring baby shampoo and/or towels the day of dog wash or drop them off at Long’s Preferred Products at 2630 Broadway Avenue. You can mail monetary donations to PO Box 404, Tioga, LA 71477 or you pay via paypal on our website. These donations are much needed for our vet bills.
Again thank you for all your support to BARK!! Without the help of all of you, our dreams for these animals would not be possible!!
Email Jillian (j1003@aol.com) for directions if you have never been to our shelter.
Huge Thanks,
BARK DIRECTORS
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
Many people are unaware there are still a handful of animal shelters in Louisiana that use carbon monoxide gas chambers to euthanize animals. Gas chambers will be discontinued in the state of Louisiana in January 2013; however, this does not help the animals on death row today! One of our BARK volunteers received a Facebook link begging any rescues to help save dogs from Vermillion Animal Shelter in Kaplan, Louisiana from being gassed!! BARK agreed to rescue 16 dogs that were due to be killed just because their shelter was at capacity. Our founder, Julian Long, drove to Kaplan to save these guys from an unnecessary death. When he arrived at this shelter, he realized that there was many more than 16 that were doomed!! He left the shelter with 44 dogs, 8 of them were 3 week old puppies!! Can you imagine these dogs’ lives ending before they had a chance to begin?
All 44 dogs are now safe living at our no kill animal rescue. We could really use your help in assisting in the aid of these dogs. We are trying to fundraise for help with having these animals spayed/neutered!! There was only one dog out of the 44 we rescued that was altered. Please find it in your heart to donate to BARK today. You can make a difference in these dogs’ lives!! Every little bit helps. Please click on donation and TODAY change a dog’s life forever!
